was sick all night long. his bp is down,. oxygen is down, signs of infection but no tests can pick up an infection. x-ray is clear.

is currently on oxygen and antibiotics (again).

Oh misdee - thinking of you. Hope everything is OK.

misdee Tue 14-Dec-04 21:33:26

he'll be fine. just fed up with the 'infection' line they keep feeding up. its his heart thats failing that causing these problems. they havent spoken to cardiologist as far as i know.

Santasluckylittlehelper Tue 14-Dec-04 21:41:15

Misdee - thinking of you, we've been here too, if you can tell his heart failure is worse, why can't they???! Push to get the cardio involved, hope the O2 is helping a bit, and he's not having to work at it too hard. X

Hulababy Tue 14-Dec-04 21:42:33

misdee (((hugs))) Thinking of you and your Dh. Hope all is well soon and he can come home.

misdee Tue 14-Dec-04 21:43:29

i had to force the ambulace people to take him, as they wanted to just get the gp out.

his cardiomogist said last week that episodes like this are an indiction of heart failure. why wont they listen to us? x-ray shows how large his heart is (its covering most of the left lung), but they wont do any more tests than they can get away with. if they discharge him tomorrow then i'll be phoning his cardiologist.

Just seen this Hope you are ok.I know what its like that sudden drop everything and go to hospital. His bp is probably low from dehydration from all the sickness I often have a raised white count(infection)but no sign of where they just give antibiotics in case.when you have a weak heart you catch everything Hope you have someone to help you out and sometimes being admitted is a quick way of getting some action

noddyholder Tue 14-Dec-04 21:44:48

crossed posts please don't let them discharge him

misdee Tue 14-Dec-04 21:53:34

there is no signs of any infection, no raised white blood count. only sign is the temp and vomiting. the vomiting could be caused by fluid build up in his chest/stomache due to bad heart function.

maybe i should become a doc.

noddyholder Tue 14-Dec-04 21:56:05

i know how you feel!I often have to suggest solutions to them rather than the other way round feeling a bit breathless today so off to bed early tonight as ds carol concert tomorrow.Hope he recovers a bit for xmas keep us posted

misdee Tue 14-Dec-04 21:57:13

will do. hope you feel ok in the morning, take it easy.

TheHollyAndTheTwiglett Tue 14-Dec-04 21:59:48

thinking of you misdee

can you refuse to be discharged??? would that help?

misdee Tue 14-Dec-04 22:01:25

he wants to be at home tho. he gets bored. tho his mum took him a radio up this evening so he could listen to the footy.

Santasluckylittlehelper Tue 14-Dec-04 22:02:31

Do you have oxygen at home misdee?

SnowmAngeliz Tue 14-Dec-04 22:04:11

misdee,
thinking of you((((((((((((())))))))))))))

misdee Tue 14-Dec-04 22:05:27

no we dont. i think it may be time to have a machine fitted, as these episodes are coming very often now. i dont fancy having bottles of O2 about. guess we're gonna become very well equipped here at some point.

Santasluckylittlehelper Tue 14-Dec-04 22:07:49

If it keeps him out of hospital (where he's more likely to catch something iffy), it might be worthwhile misdee. Hope he's home soon. X

sparklymieow Tue 14-Dec-04 22:11:01

You can get a special machine fitted that takes in the Co2 in the air and then it pumps out o2, Emma had one fitted for Daniel

misdee Tue 14-Dec-04 22:12:49

i know. how do i go about getting one fitted?

Santasluckylittlehelper Tue 14-Dec-04 22:14:14

You need to shout loudly and often in the direction of his cardiologist misdee. Make a nuisance of yourself.

sparklymieow Tue 14-Dec-04 22:15:20

I ain't sure I could ask Emma

misdee Tue 14-Dec-04 22:15:57

as long as it doesnt upset her.

sparklymieow Tue 14-Dec-04 22:18:22

It won't, you saw her today chatting about her pregnancy and birth, she will be fine.

misdee Tue 14-Dec-04 22:19:11

She is so strong.

yeah ask her, she is off the end of the week isnt she?

sparklymieow Tue 14-Dec-04 22:22:25

Yea, she has three days off. I'll ask her then, seeing I have no credit left (as someone used it all) so I can't text her
