Heavy bleeding advice please

I'm nearly 7 weeks after my emergency c section my bleeding stopped around week 3 and 7 days ago I started really heavy bleeding
I was passing alot of clots some size golf balls
Today is day 7band it's still as heavy my periods are usually only 5/6 days and heavy for 2

I got sent to a&e after talking to midwife and gp
They said it's a bad period and have give me mefenamic and tranexamic acid to stop me bleeding I took the first dose and hour ago if the bleeding dosnt stop by the end of the tablets 5 days I have to go back

How long do they take to work
Has anyone had a period like this did they help stop it

All advise be great just want a break in had hard recovery from my c section and just want feel like myself and enjoy my baby now

Had 2 of each tablet twice now and no difference at all
