Raised itchy mole?

Iv had a mole on my hip for many years. It’s always been raised.

Where it is my belly covers it 🙈 but for the last 6 months it’s been really itchy. I try rubbing it as it hurts to itch. It’s bled a few times.

Is it worth getting it checked or is it where it is, it might be abit sweaty and making it itch? 🤮🙈

Is it even a mole? Lol

If you can send the photo to your GP surgery they may be able to take a look and then either advise it looks fine or ask you to go in for a closer look. My husband recently did this, the doctor rang and said it is OK. I also did the same with one of mine, they rang and asked me to go in, they looked and said it was also OK. Yours looks like a mole to me, they do come in all shapes and sizes, there are different types etc. I always think any mole you are thinking about is worth a check.

I would get that checked by a doctor.

He said it just looks like a normal mole. But I’m not sure I believe that?

Please don't accept this. You're right that itching or bleeding indicates it needs to be checked out. You should be referred for a dermatologist to see. Changes can occur in moles you've had for a while.

He said a dermatologist won’t see me as they are completely full due to COVID 😩

Sorry but that is definitely not true. I know several dermatologists and they are still seeing people with suspect moles. Can you see a different GP?

I’d definitely pushed to get that checked out again if I were you. Can you ask for a second opinion from another GP? They can’t just fob you off with “we can’t see you because of Covid”. I’m sure it’s nothing but just in case!

Definetly get that checked by a doctor.
Better safe then sorry.
Good luck OP, hope it's nothing.

Please do push to get that checked. I really don't want to worry you but my sister had similar a few months ago. GP got her in with a dermatologist under 2 week rule. They said they were sure it wasn't anything to worry about, took photos and said would book in for general removal. At that removal 4 months they again said they were sure it was nothing to worry about - they were wrong and it was melanoma. I am not saying this is what you have but it needs to be checked asap

@Thedarksideofthemoon30 my DD has had a mole for years. Over the last few months it has become swollen and inflamed on occasions. GP looked at it via photos. Dermatolgist has seen it and it is being removed on Monday.
Don't be fobbed off.
