does anyone order melatonin from ebay? I only have 30 tablets and have to back to the hospital each time for a repeat. DH thinks its dodgy to order it on ebay.

My DS is on Melatonin. I normally give him it 30 mins before bedtime.

Wonderful stuff!!

You can only get Melatonin from the Hospital. My Pead will send the prescription to the hospital for me so I haven't got to make two trips or wait a stupidly long time.

it will only work if it's a lack of melatonin that is the problem. Still give her another fingers crossed

Sparkly I get mine on ebay (actually I did- Dh took one to see what its like and absolutely ahted it so wont have it in the house any more- rather annoyingly as he isnt here most nights.....)

I give 45 minu8tes before for ds1, and 20 minutes for ds3- ds3 only needs ahalf tab, but ds1 can require up to six! (both ahve ASd btw- am not drugging them for my benfit and ds2 dosnt need it, is very good at bedtimes.... usually , but not tonight....)

Result!!! I know my friend has had to increase her dd's with each tiny growth spurt too x

So get off here and get some sleep Sparkly!!!!

Do be aware you may need to up dose further along, either because of growth or simply as ds1 did because they become resistant to it. Indeed eventually ds1 learned to mange the medication so he didnt sleep (locking himself in loo and drinking from the taps to dilute, hyperstimualting until out of system etc) but thats fairly rare I think.

My friend's dd has mild autistic tendencies and learning difficulties and just got into a MLD, her behaviour etc improved dramatically after the melatonin gave her the sleep she obviously needed. Hope it helps with your dd

is this a major improvement then? My friend's dd was so much happier and better behaved on it because at last she was getting enough sleep!

normally she is awake till 11pm, and keeping her sister awake in the process and then awake at about 5:30am!!

How did it go today, how is her behaviour???

Report
sparklygothkat · 11/10/2007 21:27

she woke in the night at about 3am, but settled quickly. Behaviour wise we had a small pandy this evening, but otherwise she was good. She sat and coloured for ages. I love melatonin!!!

its very strange to not have her running about, screaming and shouting till 11pm. I haven't told her teacher that she is on it, I want to see if they notice a difference first.

We get melatonin off the internet. But we get it for our dog... it seems to be the only thing effective for pattern baldness.

I don't think it makes humans grow hair on their ears though and he does seem to sleep well at night. Glad it seems to be helping.

(hm, DD, 8 is still cleaning teeth at 9:30 and won't be asleep for a good while yet... sorely tempted to dose her supper tomorrow)
