Present ideas for a retiring doctor

Our lovely Doctor who's been the backbone of our village for years and who saved my life on at least on occasion is retiring - bummer. She's lovely, exactly what you would wish for in a village doctor.

We want to get her a present to mark her retirement, so show our heartfelt appreciation and to give her something to cherish in later years - something she might look at once in a while to remind her how much a difference she made to her patients.

Budget around 100-150.

Any wonderful ideas?

Any local artists?
A beautiful picture of the village (possibly inc.the surgery).

That’s so lovely of you and I’m sure she will really appreciate it. I also think a picture would be nice and really personal.

When one of my family members who was/is a doctor retired his colleagues got him a lovely little bronze sculpture of a doctor with a child “listening” with his stethoscope. It’s a very treasured gift.

Our local village GP got a blue plaque with a nice message on it (like the historic blue plaques) - he put it on his house and it was quite lovely.

My nurse friend has had jewellery with stethoscope and the line on monitors.
