Ultra sensitive when tired, to noise and other things

Been noticing increasing instances where I just can't stand any noises that aren't of my making: kid's noises, tv, anyone eating, doors banging etc. Also sensitive to unexpected touch and feel generally irritable and easily overwhelmed when tired.

I think it happens mid cycle and often just one day but this week has been a few days running and am on day 1 of period. It's not constant.

Is it hormone related? I had this but more pronounced and for weeks when I was pregnant 6 years ago but didn't happen again until about a year ago. Seems to becoming more frequent. Anyone else have this or know what it might be?

I’m highly sensitive to noise, much more than used to be, and so googled it as interested in your question and wondered if it could be linked to say a nutritional imbalance which would be helpful to know. Maybe a naturopath could answer. I did notice Lyme disease can be a possible cause and in my case it may just apply as I had very uncertain test results (one positive, one negative and two equivocal) so slightly gave up . I’d love others to answer too as wish I knew.

Ps I feel it to a similar level and it can really overwhelm me when I’m tired. It’s not easy!

Thanks for replying. It's linked to irritability and tiredness, usually for the first half hour of the morning and any time in the evening but especially before bed. Just wondered if it could be a sign of menopause...?!
