Any fellow migraine sufferers out there that can offer any advice,
I am a long term sufferer and go through peaks and troughs with them, I'm on topriamate 50mg twice a day, have been for yrs, but they have started to piggy back again and I am currently on day 8 of one of the worst ones I have had in yrs, mine stem from occipital nerve damage due to a fall and a bang on the back of my head yrs ago, so no known triggers. I have the classic lights flashing in my eyes, as well as all the other classic symbols but also severe stabbing pains in my right eye with excruciating pain over the eye, my eyes also hurt, I have pins and needles and numbness in my face and lips, I feel so sick, that I have lost half a stone in the past week as just can't face food, when standing feel like I've had two bottles of wine and I'm struggling to put a sentence together at times, all of these symptoms are regular and not new, so I'm not overly worried, just fed up, I have emailed my doc to ask if I can up or change my meds and take anything that may work for the pain and waiting for a reply, but I just wondered what works for you? Thanks. X

Annie, TBH that sounds nasty enough to warrant a trip to A&E to be checked over.

It might be status migrainous but with the weight loss, duration of 8 days and how dizzy you are I would not leave it without seeking medical advice to be on the safe side. I have a diagnosis of chronic migraine and cluster headaches. Sometimes a real beast can arrive from seeming nowhere, sometimes its something else behind the symptoms and its a bit easy to think its just another really bad migraine.

If I read those symptoms for someone else I would properly react the same and I appreciate the concern but as I say these are symptoms that are very common for me to have with a migraine which is why I've not been concerned, if it carries on much longer I promise I will go and see someone. X

I had migraines for years . It turns out they were cane red to my hormones. I had to have a hysterectomy because of fibroids and my migraines stopped immediately. That was 20 years ago and I've only had a handful since
