I’ve found a lump

I just need to tell someone. I think.

Found a small lump next to my sternum, too high to be breast tissue I think. It’s not visible(I’m overweight, could be reason).

I’ve had a very general intermittent ache around that area and into my shoulder/neck for a while, definitely months. Hence me feeling for lumps. You have to press quite hard to feel it. Have rang gp and have Initial telephone appointment.

I’m terrified

3.30 this afternoon. I’m worried they’ll struggle to feel it if i get a face to face appt and worried that they’ll be worried all at the same time

Breast tissue extends up to the collarbone and around the sternum as far as I'm aware. I had to be referred for a breast check. Many lumps are benign as was mine. It's important to get it checked out so well done to you for making the appointment 💐

Having watched Dr Pimple Popper I'm shocked at how often fatty lumpy tissue can develop into benign lumps. It v possibly one of those. The name escapes me but it has a name. Ooh it's lipoma. Good luck. Statistics say you'll be ok.

If its any comfort most breast cancer lumps are totally painless- mine was, even when it was pretty large at 3cms. Hope you get good news.

GP arranged a face to face after telephone appt. She isn’t worried by it, she used the term gristly.
She said it’s not on an area where lymph nodes are and examined my breasts, neck and arm pits.
I’ve got to monitor for 6 weeks(less if any noticeable changes) and go back if need be

That's a good update OP and I hope it stays gristly!
