Sometimes periods can be erratic during the peri-menopause but it might be worth popping to her GP to reasure herself as it's been so long.

Booger bet the poor love thought all that nonsense was over!!

I bet!

Has she been feeling ok? No unexplained weightloss or change in general health?

My nanny had this when I was a toddler, unfortunately it was cancer and she died

Please tell your friend to go to a doctor.

Jo, has your friend started on HRT on anything like that?

My mum had her last period at about 50 but when she was put on HRT they started again (albeit very briefly).

post menopausal belleding should always be investigated.

tell your friend to go to the doctor.

Tissy she might not be menopausal yet but almost, but you're right it's unusual enough to warrant a GP visit.

Ib I had that thought on the back of my mind but didn't want to frighten the OP!

"A woman who still has her uterus can be declared to be in post-menopause once she has gone 12 full months with no flow at all, not even any spotting"

she's had 4 years without a period

that makes her menopausal in my book

she should be investigated

She should get it checked out.

If she is 4 years since her last period this is not the perimenopause, she is menopausal.

You are officially menopausal 2 years after your last period if you are under 50 and a year after your last period of you are over 50
