Eczema and steroid creams

hi there
re adult steroids for arm/neck eczema, how often can you do a 5-7 day course of steroids to whack it out? i was told you only get steroid side effects and withdrawal problems if you use strong steroids every day without a break for many months to a year plus? so if you've been using it for the odd couple of days here and there for several months and then decide to really whack it out again with a proper 5-7 day course, i'm thinking that's fine as some people do 'weekend therapy' (2 days each wk) long term...? thanks so much for any advice.
