got thinking from another thread i started

when you bath a newborn if you add a product say bath johnson lavender soap

...do you rinse that of or just leave it in the water ...and that's it??

You don't need to use anything when you are bathing a newborn, I just use warm water.

They really don't need anything else

i never added anything to the bath water itself for a good few months after they were born, and only if necessary did i use any form of soap.

When i did use soap, i just rinsed baby with the bath water and ensured i dried baby thoroughly.

think ive answered the question lol

I didn't bath mine - I just topped and tailed for ages.

A new born should be bathed in just water for at least the first month. I would avoid using any products if I were you.

but water alone seems ot be drying the skin - i too wanted to not use anything but....

how often are you bathing?

no need to do it too often if they are dry

oh and oil them afterwards if you want to moisturise

soap etc in the water will most likely dry her out more

Just dunk 'em in the sink after you've finished the dishes.

Just water.

I have to say dd2 is 19 days old and has only been bath 3 times (one of them in hospital after birth).

I do top and tail her every morning.

Get that Horns N Halos baby bath, put some water in the sink, add the baby bath, stick baby in, splash it over a bit and then get it out. Job done for another couple of days!
