TMI coming up..

Been having cramps for a couple of days, although not due a period.

Went to loo and felt something 'there' , got a tissue, and saw a big blob of jelly come out my vagina. It's a little cloudy but mostly clear, about the size of my thumb or bigger. No smell. Thick like jellyish.

Cramps worse after it came out.

I'm not seriously worried or anything, just what the is this?? Does anyone know??

Is there any chance you could be pregnant?

Just discharge? It can take many forms and be quite jelly like

Are you mid-cycle? I sometimes get this at around the time I’m ovulating. Always just put it down to “weird things bodies do”

Could it be an early miscarriage?

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 19/06/2020 16:34

It's just egg-white cervical mucous, completely normal! Just means your body is getting ready to ovulate.

Are you absolutely 100% certain you aren't preggers?

I always have this mid cycle around ovulation but would say it became more obvious in my 40s

It's just The Blob. Normal around ovulation sometimes especially as you get older

Sperm ? Lubricating jelly ?

Its egg white cervical mucus that teamed with the cramps means you are probably ovulating

I'm in early 30s, 2 DC.

I have PCOS so cycles can be all over the place. I do mark them on an app when they come.

Day 18 in cycle.

Using withdrawal method all the time except if dtd when I'm actually bleeding when don't withdraw. I know, I know!! But as a method it's worked for us for years and years. Hormonal methods cause awful effects for me (tried loads under a complex contraceptive clinic at one point), coils caused bad pains which never settled, and he isn't young or v healthy so shrivels a bit with condom faffing.

Last time dtd was 2nd June on first day of last period.

The cramps are weird, just like period cramps. I never normally get this type in thickness or a big blob.

No idea.

If you've had these symptoms what has it been?? Freaking out a bit now.

I've got PCOS and it's perfectly normal for me around ovulation Smile

Sounds like a p!ug. Could you be ( very) pregnant and about to give birth?

Report
PuppyMonkey · 19/06/2020 16:59

I used to get ovulation pain as well as the egg white mucus discharge thing.

On another note, we did withdrawal method successfully for many years. The one time it wasn’t successful resulted in DD2, who’s now 13.Grin

I would be asking a medical professional if you could be pregnant?

Sounds like EWCM-are you ovulating?

Report
Jellybeansincognito · 19/06/2020 17:03

Do you need to do a bowel movement/ due to do one?

My cervix is pointed towards my back bit, when I’m due for a number 2 it pushes out stuff on my cervix so if I’m ovulating or due to, I often find a lot of this type of discharge before I go.

(Sorry, that’s rather TMI)

Plug? In labour? Sounds likely.

Either way, you need to speak to a GP.

You need to use condoms unless you want a baby- your system is insane.

I've ALWAYS had that and been pregnant

Perhaps just discharge when you ovulate - it used to happen to me every month (no longer ovulate or have periods now).

I don't know if I'm ovulating. I only mark the date I start a period and they are irregular do don't know when I'd ovulate.

I highly doubt I'm heavily pregnant. I've had periods (day 48, day 28 were last two). With both my DCs I got loads of symptoms from about 6 weeks all the way through and was huge.

@PuppyMonkey oh no. Well not oh no, I'm glad you have a lovely DC, but that is worrying. We've used it for years.

I'm not totally averse to more DC but he completely does not want any more, so I accepted that. Thinking about it actually, he is a grown man and knows about these things, yet actively participates in using withdrawal, so maybe we need to have a discussion. He'd be so so angry if I fell pregnant again.

Don't see what else could be used though.

I've tried pills, mini pills, patch, injection, two coils .. all give horrendous side effects of either migraines, serious depression, or severe pain.

Hoping it's just an ovulation thing then. Cramps still going strong.

Sounds normal to me, I get mild cramps and jelly like discharge during ovulation, too. Of course if your symptoms persist or you're worried, no harm in talking to a professional.

Jelly discharge during ovulation is normal. If you're TTC, get snagging

Report
itsmdhbnsu · 19/06/2020 17:23

@Jellybeansincognito yes it happened just after a did a BM. I have a backwards (retroverted??) womb and they once said something about that and my cervix when having a smear.

@Greenmarmalade I know, you are right, but I've tried everything - pills, mini pills, patch, two coils, jags, and all caused unbearable side effects. Even the complex contraceptive clinic didn't know what to do with me after that. He can't use condoms nowadays cause he's older than me and it 'stops working' iyswim when stop or take too long to change position or anything. Head in the sand approach not good though, need to sort something.
