Periods worsening years after ablation

Just over 4 years ago I had an ablation (novasure in case this makes a difference). Lots of fibroids and polyps discovered underneath the very thick womb lining. I was warned that as I was relatively young at the time to have it done the lining could grow back.

Up until recently it's been fine. I never stopped having periods but they'd be very very light with tiny clots if any at all. Now I'm getting larger clots again, lots more blood flow, pain, etc. But still nowhere near what they were like before the ablation.

I appreciate being in the middle of a pandemic and it being not as bad as previously means it's probably not worth bothering the GP with until some normality resumes. But has anyone else had this happen? Is it likely to be regrowth or could it possibly be fibroids again? Or should I be worrying more?

Were the fibroids and polyps seen not removed separately
prior to ablation?

I would contact the GP. You need medical attention and also a referral to a gynaecologist.

I had the same thing happen to me following my ablation. I was given all sorts of medication to settle it down, and in the most part it did, however I was never offered a scan despite being seen by a gynaecologist.

My periods more or less stopped a year ago until Christmas time when I started with quite heavy, continual bleeding so was given a scan where it was found I have polyps and fibroids. I should have had them removed by now but Covid happened.

It's important that you go back to your GP.

Yes sorry, the fibroids and polyps were dealt with at the time of the ablation they said. I'm hoping they did at least. Took nearly 15 years to get to the point they realised my lining was far too thick, let alone anything else!
