Mould in the house!

Hi ladies, I’m just wondering if anybody has ever had a mould issue in the home? We are in a very old cottage which is quite damp and parts of the house are mouldly such as bathroom (in and between the tiles of the shower) and around the window in the bedroom. Did you have any side effects or health issues due to this? I have had a burning throat daily (without fail) for 2 months and I am absolutely convinced it’s due to the mould. I have been on the absolute maximum of medication for reflux and it doesn’t give me any relief what so ever. I am planning on moving out within the next month or two so not so bad and where we are moving to is mould free! I’m just very curious as to whether anybody is suffering with the same thing? It is really hurting...when I say it burns I mean it really does burn!!! Any responses appreciated. Take care all. Xox

Can't help with the medical side of things but it is very important to get as much ventilation as you can as you are probably breathing in mould spores. As you are moving soon probably just keep as many windows ajar (if it is safe to do so) If there is an extractor fan in the bathroom leave it on, it may be switched with the light.

Household bleach will kill a lot of the mould. A common cause is poor ventilation, although it sounds like there is an underlying damp issue too. As you are moving soon-ish probably the best you can do is just to try and keep it a bay with bleach and ventilation.
