DH has a cough, but not "the" cough(2 Posts)
He's had it for months, maybe years, since well before Christmas.
Comes and goes a bit in its severity but is always there. He's an ex (occasionally lasping) smoker and he's always referred to it as his smoker's cough, which has led me to give him limited sympathy!
The last few weeks it's got much worse. He's lost a lot of weight in lockdown, which we initially put down to less junk food but now he looks and feels really unwell. The cough is so bad he's regularly coughing until he's sick.
He had a telephone appointment with GP last week and a chest xray next day. Need to wait another week for the results and another call with GP but I'm starting to get scared.
What are the not too awful likely outcomes?
could be a number of things. smoker's cough (copd), emphysema, asthma, heart failure, cancer...
the wait between tests and diagnosis is really hard <holds hands>
