What on earth could I have done to my lower back?

I am wondering if anyone has any experience of lower back pain that only occurs when walking?

My back doesn't hurt at all when sitting or moving around or lying down/sleeping etc. However, I start walking and within 3 or 4 minutes I am crippled with pain in my.lower back, towards the right side. The only way to relieve it is to bend forwards, like touching my toes. I can then walk for 3 or 4 minutes again and the pains comes back.

I can bike for miles with no pain.

Does anyone have any ideas?

You should try stretching your glutes. Just Google glute stretches and stick to them.

If you cycle, and sit down alot (desk job) your glutes will be extremely tight and pulling on your lower back - it can be very painful.

I don't know, but I've had terrible lower back pain for two weeks and after just two times doing this the pain has almost stopped
