Corneal abrasion?

Hi all
My DD has just accidentally shoved a bristled hair brush in to my eyeball (the bristles literally scraped my eyeball itself). It was watering loads for about an hour and the watering has stopped now unless I look up or look in to bright daylight it starts to water again. The pain is still there too and feels a bit like a dull burning. What’s the best course of action for eye injuries? So I just rinse it and let it heal?

most opticians are doing an emergency service and at the very least you should be able to talk to one over the phone. I would just phone the optician nearest you and see what they say. Failing that I would go to A&E - eyes are not to be messed with.

Thank you. I wasn’t sure if this warranted a phone call or not - but my eye has never hurt like this before so it left me feeling a bit uncomfortable just leaving it!

Your local hospital may have an emergency A&E eye section - I had an incident with an eye and was able to wait and see an eye specialist. Don’t suffer ! Get it seen

Have had this a couple of times myself and my dogs were very prone to it.

Get some advice from a specialist if you can. Until you can the best thing to do is to keep the eye well lubricated. Buy some Viscotears (or generic carbomer gel) from the chemist and apply at least 4 times a day. You can't over-lubricate so if it gets uncomfortable in between then just apply more.
