stopped BF - still irregular periods, how long could this go on for?

I stopped BF my dd at 18m which was about 4 months ago. My periods came back then and the gaps between them have been 41 days, 10 days, 16 days, 43 days (& lasted 2 weeks) and I've just come on again after only 6 days.

Is it normal for it take so long to get into some sort of rhythm?

I'm also on the mini- pill & I don't know if this makes any differnce.

Any advice please!?

Hi Rosieglow,

I will bump yours if you will bump mine!!

I am on a micropill, don't know if that is the same as a minipill.

Let's hope that someone more knowledgeable comes along.

Thanks kindersurprise.
I think it's probably the same. I've tried the mini pill in the past & I went on to the combined pill because I got breakthrough bleeding. But I don't think they would give it now (Dr said too old). So I don't know if I should carry on & hope it will eventually sort its self out or if it;ll stay the same & I should find something else.

Apparently it can take up to six months (according to my GP) for things to regulate themselves. Lucky you, that they waited till you stopped to come back, mine showed up at 9 months although not exactly regular yet (just to keep you guessing and ensure you are hulking round spare towels everywhere).
