What is this pain in my leg?

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas...

It feels deep inside the back of my right thigh, quite close to the outer edge. I've been feeling it for about 6 months. I can feel it with every step, and sometimes it flares up to acute localised pain - not dreadful but getting worse - but it's usually just a constant ache.

Convinced it's not muscular. Don't think it can be a thrombosis-type thing, can it, not for this length of time?!? Doesn't feel like sciatica, which I've had in pregnancies. I'm not a hypochondriac (hence length of time not bothering about it), but it does possibly feel as if there's something there, deep inside.

Oh, forgot to say that it did seem to move around at first - back of knee, then up to groin, before it's kind of settled where it is.

Anyone any ideas?!?!

Sciatica?! Have a google of that and see if it fits.

I have a very dodgy L5/S1 disc and struggle with behind the knee, left back of thigh and left groin (and also left back calf and left side of foot but I've had 3 emergency ops for it).

If you become numb at any stage, or lose control of bowel or bladder go straight to ED!!

Oh, thanks, Dhalia. I didn't think it was sciatica as I had that in pregnancy and it feels totally different. Then, I felt it just in my buttock, like a needle sticking into it (not quite as bad as that!). I felt it was totally from the extra weight at my front pulling everything down.

This is more of a gnawing, radiating ache. Not nice, and it does keep moving round a bit, despite what I said the other day. Can feel it in inside groin again today.

But it's one of these things you think, "How on earth can I call the doc about something so vague?!" these days...

Plus it seems sciatica goes within 6 weeks in 90% of cases, and this has been going on close to 6 months now... :-(

Oh, thank you Muskeg, but that seems to be pain on the skin –this is deep inside my thigh. I think I'mma have to phone the doc... I'm baffled.
