Breathless but not Covid

Hello everyone,

This is a bit of a strange one to describe as when I say breathless it’s not an exact description.

I have no wheezing or difficulty breathing but just a weird feeling of the breath I’m taking is not giving me enough oxygen.I feel it doing even the most basic of exertion.Go up the stairs and feel it.

No palpitations or chest pain ,a bit lethargic.

I have put on a lot of weight over the last few months and carrying around my belly so thinking maybe lungs are getting squished by my massive belly. Also really heavy periods.

Any suggestions on what it could be would be appreciated as understandably don’t want to be trying to contact the Doctors at the moment.

Although I’m not overweight and have had a hysterectomy so no periods, I’ve had exactly the same breathlessness for over 6 weeks now and was wondering where it has come from

I was worrying about a raw feeling in my lungs.

Turns out I have hayfever 🤷‍♀️

This happened to me. Assumed I was really unfit and knackered getting out of breath just walking up the stairs until my husband got the same.

We think maybe CV. Breathless for a few days. Crazy leg and back pain and so much lethargy. Both had a headache at onset. No cough but we had to alternate reading bedtime stories because we couldn’t get our breath.

I have this with hayfever, it brings on mild hayfever induced asthma and gives me chest pains, bad cough and feels a bit more laboured breathing. Had it last year too.

Other things could be anaemia, anxiety or general unfitnessness.

I'm fairly certain mine isn't covid as not been out for weeks, had similar last year though have had bad headache and fever briefly with it. No-one else in family has had anything and I've had a cough for months probably from hay as indoor rabbit.

Anaemia...? If you have very heavy periods I’d look into this and have some blood tests done.

I'm guessing anaemia too, especially with your heavy periods or possibly thyroid problems which can also cause heavy periods and breathlessness.

If it's anaemia it's often worse in your periods. I have mild anaemia and take a vitamin with iron in but you shouldn't take iron supplements unless you need them - need a blood test first.

Yup prob anaemia, b12 and folic acid deficiencies. Half my friends have that package deal.

Me and DD had this, lasted 10days mostly better now just a little bit breathless if i do too much.

She has a health condition so we have been in contact with her hospital team and they said they are pretty sure it was Covid. It just seems to be showing in many different ways.

Thank you everyone for the comments.

I think I ruled out CV because it’s been going on for a two or three months now.

Was wondering if it might be anemia as am peri-menopausal and have the joy of flooding and passing half my internals by the looks of it every month.

Will keep an open mind though as who know how long CV has been around.
