Tight chest and bloody phlem

Partner today coughed up some phlem and was blood quite a bit the first 3 time then small amount after. Phoned doc and they decided he should go to hospital
They asked all questions
Fever no
Cough no
Breathlessness no
Sore throat no

Done blood tests no infections and they done a blood test for coronavirus and all came back clear but unsure on why he has chest pain and blood phlem

Any ideas?
