Very Low ferritin- breathlessness

Does anyone know if having very low ferritin levels (was 8 when last checked) makes you more at risk? It does and has been causing normal breathlessness since about Christmas. I was having investigations to try and find a reason for it, but nothing found yet (was meant to get rechecked in April, but obviously put that on hold).

Also I have asthma. It is/was well controlled (I was struck off flu jab list last year).

And have anxiety which is causing breathlessness too, which doesn’t help!

Hi! I'm not sure about low ferritin related breathlessness makes you more at risk but having experienced similar levels of ferritin and breathlessness I know how horrible it feels in normal times.

Presumably you are on meds? I found mine kicked in reasonably soon and I began to feel better.

You could ring your gp for advice but also I found pacing myself and being gentle with myself helped.

Thanks

For the anxiety I've found listening to meditation videos on YouTube very helpful. They tend to have long sections on breathing as well.
