I have a few medical problems at the moment and I have been advised to see one of these therapists. Has anyone ever had any dealings or know what they are about as I cant seem to find information out about them!

Thanks

I do sort of. It was of my mother's duties as a doctor specialising in women's health. I didn't actually talk to her about this but I read the books she used to lend to patients.

and.......

is it an embarrassing subject?

If you have some sort of sexual trauma or problem with sex (usually, as far as I know) they are a type of therapist who specialise in that area.

not sure what they actually do though, in a session - I have been on the waiting list for ages

erm, well any therapy to do with sex and things really I guess... I guess you can see one if you are an addict also?

DumbledoresGirl · 07/09/2007 20:33

Yes they talk you through whatever your sexual problems are. There is a certain amount of practical homework as it were.

Quootiepie · 07/09/2007 20:33

No No, I was suspected of having endometriosis (sp?) and one of the symtoms was pain during sex, and I was refered on to one of these (amongst other things)

sportmonster · 07/09/2007 20:34

practical homework??????? Like what?

DumbledoresGirl · 07/09/2007 20:34

This explains it quite well

sportmonster · 07/09/2007 20:35
