It's a probiotic
Like the stuff that is in yakult

so yes I could see it could be good but you would have to take for a while before I would think

zippitippitoes · 06/09/2007 10:18

oh so not owrth it if i only booked it the day before yesterday and I am going on sunday then?

It lowers the ph of your stomach or something, making it less ideal for dodgy bugs to proliferate

CountessDracula · 06/09/2007 10:19

not sure
I can't remember if it is effective immediately

I take it every day as I take long-term antibiotics. I would take it anyway. Get the Solgar ones they are good

suzycreamcheese · 06/09/2007 10:19

its in natural live yogurt
it could help i guess strengthen you a bit

you still wont be used to the general bugs and water etc of new place takes a few days sometimes

eat live yogurt when you are there too..

zippitippitoes · 06/09/2007 10:20

might look at them...though sounds a bit late

I am more worried about getting horrendous sunburn as it sounds like I very much could and I haven't been in the sun for about 8 years

CountessDracula · 06/09/2007 10:21

zippitippitoes · 06/09/2007 10:24

Nope, definitely not too late! I took the following for a day before embarking on a trek in the Sahara in March, and alot of the camp got a really violent tummy bug and I was fine :-) If you call them today you'll get it tomorrow.... hth

Jackaroo · 06/09/2007 10:44

sorry, that came out all wrong - I took it from a day before, for the entire trip...

zippitippitoes · 06/09/2007 11:11

thank you..i think you can get them in holland and barratt so will check later ..i am waiting to see if the tickets come by special delivery this morning so stuck in till one

i didn't realise they were a natural thing

will take immodium with me in case i think

i take a ridiculous amount of supplements anyway so another won't do any harm

Imodiam won't touch it if you get a bug in Egypt we went there on our honeymoon both of us got bugs, and we were very careful (I am anal about hygiene) , tis' the food ...the tablets might help a ikkle bit but if you get a bug go to a local chemist there and get them to give you something. I used Imodiam and 2 days later went to the chemist the stuff they gave me worked within 6hrs so defo get the local stuff if you get caught

zippitippitoes · 07/09/2007 14:00
