My son is reporting (fairly infrequently) short bursts of pain/discomfort in different areas of his chest, especially prevalent if he laughs hard, (which is a common experience as his twin's mission in life is to make everyone laugh at the moment and he is a happy bunny anyway.) I'm going to take him to the GP to get it checked out but thought I'd see if anyone else has experienced this?

Might be just aching in his intercostal muscles - the muscles between his ribs. The same way your leg muscles ache when you have been running. As long as he is otherwise well, and doesn't look pale/blue or grey when he feels the pain it is probably nothing to worry about. It doesn't do any harm to see GP if you are worried.

Thank you, 3littlefrogs. That sounds like a pretty likely cause. He's v healthy otherwise and not going blue or grey, thank goodness. I had a little rootle around on the family doctor website and couldn't see anything that fitted on there. I will monitor closely and go to the GP if it continues just to be sure.

I thought that could be caused by anaemia - dunno how though
