I’ve had indigestion all day

I’ve had indigestion since about 7am this morning, I’m taking Bisodol tablets which make me burp which in turn eases the indigestion for a few minutes, then it’s back. Anyone got any tips for getting through the night as I don’t think I’m going to get much sleep.

Hi might not be very helpful but I had been suffering really badly with it for about a year and it turned out to be gallstones...I'm having my gallbladder out this week!

I used to have the pink bottle of Gaviscon if it was really bad and rennie if it was manageable!

Hope it goes away x

@Ilikeanimalsmorethanpeople do you mind if I ask how they found the cause in the end?

Hi @HorseGallopingOnATomato no not at all, I got taken in to the hospital by Ambulance after calling 111 as a thought I had a faint idea it might be gallstones I didn't know for sure! I had an Ultrasound the next day which confirmed the stones as I think that's all they can do to confirm it x

Ah ok! I’ve been struggling with heartburn for about two years following an attack of what they thought was cholecystitis, but no gallstones found on ultrasound! Have never had biliary colic either. The search continues I guess! Good luck for your gallbladder removal!

Oh that's annoying! could it still be your gallbladder? but to do with the bile and not the stones? have you changed your diet at all? good luck! x

I can’t find a dietary trigger at all. I just have low level about-to-be-heartburn all the time and a bruised feeling in the left upper abdomen (gallbladder is meant to be right!) which tips into four-day attacks of heartburn. It could be gastritis. It could be stress. It could be gallbladder. Who knows?
