whooping cough, ME(1 Post)
DD has ME, so immuno-supporessed - is that the right word?
Anyway,, she's had this cough for weeks and weeks.. It's not bad, it's not productive, it sounds raw and a bit painful, but it's not non-stop, just now and again, a couple of times an hour maybe.
Because it's gone on for so long and is making her throat a bit sore and this is all interfering with her singing, she rang the doc. They think it might be whooping cough. She coughed while she was on the phone, so the doc knows what it sounds like. It doesn't sound like whooping cough and she doesn't have that awful drawing in of breath in the middle of a coughing fit. In fact, I've not heard her have a coughing fit at all. It's one cough, then another about 20 minutes later and so on.
She's 20, so maybe it's different in adults?
