Sounds like flu actually! So drink and drink and drink and I wish you all the sympathy in the world

gargle with soluable paracetamol (swallow it after ) add nuofen - with both make sure you're taking proper adult dose, ie 400mg nurofen and 1g of paracetamol. Keep cool
don't wrap yourself up in the duvet. drink loads of cold drinks, ice lollies etc
should start to feel better soon.
if stop being able to swallow anything, or have to spit out saliva then may need GP. get someone to check your throat see what it looks loke.

You may have tonsillitis-that can make you really ill and give very high temperatures. Call your out of hours doctor as you may need antibiotics if it is that.

TOnsilitis vote here too - I used to get it 3 times a year and it is horrid. It is one of the times that antibiotics are definitly the thing.

See out of hours GP and you will be amazed how quickly you start to feel better

If your throat has closed up so much you can't swallow, then you need to be concerned that it may close so you can't breathe.
I don't want to panic you but when i called NHS Direct last night this is the question i was asked over and over. Agree that it sounds like tonsilitis.

You should get some help immediately as this is in no way normal Alibobins.

get thee to the emergency doctors ASAP

i had flu, but a chest infection also, i could not get out of bed, but needed ABs, which made a huge difference within 24 hours

hope you are feeling better soon, make sure you drink plenty of fluid

Phoned Nhs Direct and they sent me to the out of hours doctors and yes I have got tosilitis and have been given antibiotics and stronger painkillers co-something.

Been told to take double dose of abs today and if no improvement in 24 hours then to go back or to A&E

I've not felt this bad in a long time just hope I don't give it to DC's
