Yesterday I poked my thumb nail into my eye, after a while it felt uncomfortable in the eye and when looked in the mirror I saw a red patch appeared. There's no change in my vision, no floaters, no dizziness, no nausea and generally we'll. One of my neighbours is a doctor in a&e and when she examined it said its subconjuctival haemorrhage and it heels on its own. Now today I woke up with a bigger bloody patch and again went to my neighbour and she said its going to get worse before it gets better so I'd like some reassurance from you lovelies that it's fine and nothing serious because I tend to panic alot

You've had diagnosis and advice from an appropriate medical professional. I'm not sure what you want us to say?!

You have seen an A+E doctor....

People on here cant be more reassuring than that

If you are concerned & want a second opinion see someone today - if you are near London there is an eye hospital there if not go to minor injuries or A&E near you -

You've managed to bruise your eyeball.

As the top layer is clear, instead of blue, the blood pool shows up as it's true colour.

As with all bruising, it will look worse before it gets better.

@Palavah i was looking for some personal experience if anyone had, or heard of... Just to put my mind at ease. You're right I've been seen by a professional though, it should be fine hopefully

I'd go and have it looked at by an Optometrist today (there's no need to go to A&E, the equipment is the same for looking at that in their testing rooms).
It may well just be a subconjunctival haemorrhage, which do get worse before they get better, but there is a small v shaped lesion in your top picture - presumably from your thumb nail, that needs closer examination on a slit lamp microscope, as you may have gone through to a deeper layer of the eye.

@underneaththeash thanks, surely I'll do.

Agree with underneath - you may have scratched the cornea so needs to be examined with special eye drops and a slit lamp
