What to take to feel well again

Oliversmumsarmy · 09/01/2020 18:03

Was ill over Christmas. Think it was full blown flu.

The coughing fits that were keeping me up have subsided. Still not gone completely.

I was on Antibiotics as it went into my lungs/chest infection.

I am left feeling completely weak and drained.

Anything I can take or do to feel strong again? Or at least like I am not going to fall down in a dead faint if I get up off the sofa

I am supposed to be working and have a deadline (physical work) so far I haven’t been out of my dressing gown since New Years Eve

I would personally get some metatone tonic and try your best to eat lots of fruit and veg. Not easy I know when you are feeling unwell. I've been ill since November and am currently pregnant so know what feeling incredibly rundown can do for you.

Thanks for that.

Although I try to avoid Metatone as I am super sensitive to alcohol

Maybe if you are feeling up to it pop to your local pharmacy or chemist and tell them how you are feeling and that you'd like to avoid alcohol based items and see what they suggest? Or even somewhere like Holland and barret?

Try floridix by Salus, you can get it from Holland and Barrett. - it's a herbal tonic and no alcohol. Look at all of their range as you might find one that suits you better

Got some Floridix hopefully will feel better soon.

Stressing as I have a lot of physical stuff to do and I have hardly strength to lift a cup of tea.

If you were on antibiotics your gut flora will be all out of sorts now.

A high dose capsule form will help put that back together, or probiotic yogurts with foods like oats, bananas, leek/onion/garlic.

Floradix is really good.
Have lots of fruit, veg and soups, especially chicken soup.
This is a good soup. Just adapt to your tastes.

Feraglobin helped me over flu last year

Sambucol - I've haven't been ill with a bad cold or flu for nearly two years taking this, I swear it's amazing.

A good multivitamin with zinc or iron. And lots of water, fruit and veg.

And sleep!

I just also think rest as much as possible .

I was on antibiotics too and am taking a bog standard probiotic I got from the chemist but would love it if someone had a recommendation for a brand .

I'm also taking floradix vit c, zinc , and loads of fresh ginger and garlic . I'm so tired 4-5 weeks on, my GP called it the 100 day cough !

Oh no.

I think I am going to have to take everything. I really can’t be out of action that long.
