Pins and needles

Just wondering if anyone has the same?! At least once a night I wake up with numbness in my lower arm/hands followed by pins and needles. REALLY strong pins and needles! They can be in my little and ring finger, or my thumb first finger and middle finger... Sometimes my whole hand. It's all very positional, as in when I stretch my arm out it goes. My elbows and shoulders do get pains on and off too throughout the day. I'm wondering if it's to do with carrying around a heavy 15 month old (who is refusing to walk). He's pretty heavy (he was 11lb 3oz when born).
I get pins and needles pretty quickly anyway, and always have but this is really irritating! 😂
I feel like I get anxious about falling asleep at night because I know I'll be woken with pins and needles.

I had this for about ten years before having surgery to correct it!

It is probably the way you are lying, maybe your pillow is too low or too high; or your mattress too hard or soft.

It could be a nerve getting trapped because of the way you are lying

If it was happening during the day and for no apparent reason I would suspect vitamin B12 deficiency.

YY to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I had the same and surgery sorted it. I also used to randomly drop things as my fingers would open when I was holding them

I thought carpel tunnel was just the thumb abd first 2 fingers that are affected??

I had a hyperactive thyroid and this was one of my symptoms.

I had similar, my GP referred me to a spinal unit who did an MRI. MRI showed two ‘bulging’ discs (commonly known as slipped discs) in my neck. Nerve conduction studies showed no involvement of nerves. I had physio which helped a lot then started on some tablets that helped me stop the painkillers. I was better sleeping on my back and with one pillow when it was really bad. It’s definitely worth a visit to your GP.
