I reckon its a sam, i think i could prob wear my one day lenses for more thanone day, if i bought soem cleaning stuff!!

I say tis, becuase I was nearing the end of my lenses, and one day I kept the little vials, and put a heavy book onthem, so that the ater was still inside. I popped that last pair of lenses back in the water/solution, and recovered. Next day I paryed they hadnt shrivelled up, and they were fine for wear.

I understand that, ok, my method was not sterile on this one occasion, becuase I had actually opened this one pack, and some bacteria or dust may wel have got into the vials, not to mention any bacteria fromthe eye.

Yet, i am thinking about doing this now and again, but getting some proper solution.

what do you think, i really need to save money inthis house!!

Agree with Misdee, v. bad idea. Google contact lens and infection if you don't believe me. I wouldn't risk it.

i had a friend get an infection on his eye from contact lenses. it basically removed the frony layer of cells from his eye. was very sore for months and he couldnt wear contacts for well over 6months, so now sticks to glasses.

Sil got a serious eye bug which has damaged her sight despite changing solution daily. Not worth skimping.

But the solutions are quite expensive and don't keep for long once opened. Would you save money in the long run? Especially if you get an infection and have to pay a prescripion charge for something to sort it out.

I wear my monthlies for around 6 weeks with no problems. I use all in one solution from any of the supermarkets and it's around £4.25 for a bottle that lasts ages.

I suppose even if you wore your dailies for two days then you are halving the cost but I am sure there will be risks to this, same as there will be a risk for me using my monthlies longer than recommended.

dailies are an expensive alternative to normal lenses. I have gas permeable ones which last for about 2 years and work out mils cheaper. if you want to save money, get more cost effective lenses.

tho i do sort of agre with you - what's the difference in putting them in fresh solution and wearing them again? Dunno. I am bad and don't clean mine every day, after 20 years I guess yoou get a bit lazy.

No, I agree with other posters, you need to get different lenses such as monthlies. I too have a friend who got a serious eye condition from not taking care of her lenses and now she has to wear glasses permanently

I have gas permeable hard lenses which I can recommend - though cleaning is a faff and the solutions are expensive but prob cheaper than dailies

I tried monthlies. Couldn't get on with them. Tried dailies and they were better but too expensive. I just have glasses now. Cost about £150 2 years ago and was advised at my eye test last month they're still OK. So, should do another 2 years.

4 years for £150's not bad imo.

But if you're set on contacts, monthlies are about half the price of dailies, if not less.

hiya, i really do agre with the health side of it, with the cleaning. Some of you have said that yourselves or friends have had eye infections and things, which i realise is prob the effect of perhaps not doing the daily care properly.

I was just wondering if these 'miracle' daily lenses were actually able to be worn more thanonce, provided they were cleaned in solution.

I am totaly considering getting monthlies, i just wondered what the difference in the actual lens was. Cos you just never know.

Daily lenses are definitely a lot thinner, so tear more easily but should still stand up to a couple of days wear. I really don't know from the infection side of things - logically I don't see why you are more likely to get an infection from dailies that you've cleaned properly than from monthlies. We need an optician on here to tell us. I have a friend who got an eye infection a few days after her first baby was born and ended up back in hospital for a week and now wears glasses. So not advising that you take any risks but don't see why it wouldn't be OK.
