Is this a migraine? If so what can I do?

I’ve had a headache since yesterday afternoon that just won’t go away.
I used to get headaches like this regularly around a year/a year and a half ago.
They always came when it was my time of the month and would last days in a row and I worked night shift back then so it was unbearable at times and would last 3-4 days at times despite varied painkillers but it all stopped a while back so all was good.
Right now though it feels like it used to. It’s heavy and across my head and eyes, I feel physically sick, irritable (although I’m trying not to be, poor DC!) an achey neck, any noise is hideous and if I could I’d stay in a dark room all day but have so much to get on with!
I have had my eyes tested this year just incase and they’re fine.
My nutrition was very poor last time around and I was lacking allot of what I needed but now there really isn’t a reason I can pinpoint at all other than it being my time of month.
The pain isn’t the biggest factor although that’s horrible, it’s the nausea, the noise and brightness ect.
Is there anything I can take to make it go away? I’m trying to keep hydrated. It’s just making me feel so meh at a fabulous time of year!

Nasuea? Take pink migraleive and a can of red coke. The caffeine in the coke helps donsomething to the blood vessels which eases headaches. The pink migraleive has something to help nausea.

You can get old fashionednsyndol nowadays. You can't take it with migraleive, and it will knock you out for 4 hours, but it has a muscle relaxant in, if it's a tension headache.

Long time migraineur here! Hope it eases soon.

Try a hot water bottle or heat pack across shoulders
Solpadine Max or Syndol
I find food can help - something like peanut butter on wholemeal toast
Can of Coke

Don - when buying Syndol, how can you tell if it's the old one?

Thank you. Will get out in a bit and buy some of that if it doesn’t ease up. Am going to have a bath first.
I feel ridiculous as I’m here crying right now and I’m not sure if I’m emotional because it’s my time of the month or because this headache is making everything feel horrible!
Yes I’ve not been sick with it and I never did before either it’s just the constant feeling of sickness. It’s yucky! Puts me off eating but I will do.

It's horrible. Hope you feel better soon. Maybe try an ice lolly or ginger biscuits for the nausea.

Buccastem is best for migraine nausea. Put the little tablet up inside your top lip/gum and it dissolves slowly and absorbs like that.

Thank you for the advice. I’ve got myself a bit more sorted now. Bath. Pint of water and something to eat. It’s still there but the nausea has eased off slightly and getting on is taking my mind off it a little. I have so much to do today but I cannot wait to collapse into bed this evening as early as possible!
I will take some painkillers I have in the house I think soon and see if they clear it up if it doesn’t go by itself. If that fails I’ll be off to buy some syndol, thank you!

I generally take aspirin and a strong coffee with paracetamol.

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie it says on the pack. And look for the ingredient doxylamine. You can't usually help yourself to the 'real' ones! And they're expensive!

I was so pleased to see them back!

I'm under a different name, but we've 'chatted' before. Hope you're well.

Op, hope you get some relief.

I get hormonal migraines and had to come off the pill as it was the estrogen causing them I would be sick as a dog and My blood pressure would be high as well during the attack. Are you on any contraception ? Take some ibuprofen but you should really see a doctor as that needs to be checked there are migraine meds that can also be prescribed .

As Lizzey says might be worth seeing your gp (i know that's not helpful now). I think I have always had migraines but mistaken them for sinus issues. They got much worse recently and my gp prescribed a tablet that is great and stops them (can't remember name but sone sort of triptan). Hope you feel better soon. They are miserable.
