Bloating, back and abdo pain

Hi, I'm looking for a bit of reassurance and a hand hold really.

For a couple of weeks I've had constant bloating and stomach pain, along with niggling lower back pain, mainly on the right hand side. I was really late on my period, by almost a week which is most unlike me, so I sat it out thinking it might be period related. Period has been and gone and I'm still feeling the same.

I've obviously googled 🙄 and now I'm stressing about all sorts. Mainly ovarian cancer due to the bloating and full feeling, or perhaps an ovarian cyst? I can't get into the docs until Monday so I'm starting to become really anxious.

I think I struggle with health worries a lot because I'm a single parent and I just don't have anyone to talk to about these things and I end up working myself up about it. My thoughts also immediately jump to my DC and what would happen to them if anything was to happen to me. Its a horrible place to be...

I suppose I'm looking for a hand hold really or some reassurance from others who've experienced similar symptoms and it turned out to be something less serious.

It's going to be a long weekend until I can see a doctor

Thank you, in advance for listening x

Here with a hand hold, OP. I’ve had similar symptoms and all that was found was harmless ovarian cysts which disappeared by the my next scan.

It’s great that you have a GP appointment on Monday. But what you are doing now is catastrophising: taking the worst case scenario and running with it. I do that too!

Try to put those worries in a box in the back of your head until Monday. You can actually visualise that. Try to focus on your kids and doing something nice over the weekend: baking, going to the park, whatever appeals and is possible. How old are you and your kids?

You're better off going to the GUM clinic. I went for a screen and check up after a mega painful and bloody smear, was booked in with the consultant who referred me for an emergency scan. I got an appointment for the next day before I even got back to the car. Scared the mother loving bejesus out of me but it was over and done with in a week start to finish. She did an external and internal scan and was very thorough.

Just to add, all clear. The problem seemingly is to do with my bowel so have to do those tests. Same symptoms as you've described. Try not to stress too much and stop googling.

Thank you for the replies Flowers

I'm 39 and my DC is 6. I've been checked out for STDs and they all came back clear, although I've not been active in that department for a while! Grin

It's just this constant dull ache across my stomach, almost like period pains, with the back pain too. Find it hard to stop thinking about it but I know I need to. I guess it could be IBS, although I've not really had any changes in bowel habits and the pain doesn't change after a bowel movement etc.

Anyway, I'll get to the docs on Monday. Just hoping I get referred for tests asap as I know I'm distracted by this and I feel so guilty that I'm probably not giving my full attention to DC.
Thank you for your replies x

Let us know how it goes tomorrow, @ItsAllFunAndGamesUntil. But try not to pile guilt onto yourself!

Hi I know this is a really old thread but what was the outcome for you in the end if you don't mind me asking? I could have written your post word for word and I'm feeling very anxious.
