Blocked fallopian tube - extreme pain during period

Hi. We had been ttc for a few years when I started getting extreme pain during my period and a few days before. Endometriosis was suspected and a Laparoscopy in Jan confirmed it along with a blocked fallopian tube and cysts around the blocked tube too (they were linked to the endo).

The lap hasn't really helped with the pain, if anything it is worse but now only seems to be on one side where the blocked tube is.

I've searched the net and can't see anything about this kind of pain caused by a blocked tube. Has anyone else experienced it? My gyno was not able to unblock the tube during the lap.

I'm not sure if anything would resolve it except for removal of the tube. Do I really need it?

I haven't actually described the pain. I guess it's the same as endo. A bit like my insides being squeezed and barbed wire being dragged around inside me.

Did they treat anything in the lap? The best treatment for endo is to remove it. If they can't save your tube it probably does need to come out. Is your gynae an endo specialist? If not I would ask to be referred to one.

Hi @ViveLEntenteCordiale yes she removed endo and cysts that were around the blocked tube and send the cysts for biopsy (nothing sinister, just endo related). I'm not sure if she is endo specialist but she seemed pretty on the ball. I was lucky I got the procedure through Bupa with my work health insurance. I think I might enquire about removing that tube since it's a dud anyway.
