Aural migraine?

I've had a headache for the past 2 days. Work is stressful at the moment and I have a lot of reading on the computer to complete.

This morning I sort of lost vision in half of my view when reading on the screen. I can't really explain it, but there was an area that was silvery and distorted, for around 20 minutes. I still have a headache. Headache never got unmanageable.

Is this just a visual migraine? Or should I get it checked?

Late 30s, no serious medical issues.

Thank you

Sounds like a classic visual migraine. The first time it happened to me it was quite scary. But, as with anything unusual you might be best to see the GP and check there's no underlying issue.

I've suffer from migraine and have had three visual migraines with no headache. All three have been at times of particular stress.

I suffer from aura migraine, usually on the 3rd day of my period so hormonal for me but do occasionally get them other times especially when stressed (had 3 in the week running up to Xmas last year!!). Always starts with a weird blind spot which slowly turns to a flashing/zig zag arch which goes across my vision, takes about 20-30 mins to disappear and I can’t see much during that time so just lay down. Often only get a mild headache after but will feel weird and spacey. Hate them!

I've had this to (and like the mature adult I am I didnt get it checked as i know i probably should) so its reassuring to hear others experiences. I have found that I've had this at times of stress and usually when I'm also tired but running around. I have accessed counselling to talk about the stress and havent had one since going.
