seed cycling and pmt

I’ve been doing seed cycling for a month.

I’ve no idea what evidence there is for it, but I figured what harm can there be from a few seeds.

So this month I’ve just got my period, I almost forgot what day it was coming as I’ve had virtually no hyperactivity, bursts of frantic activity or general irritation (I am underplaying that – I mean internal homicidal urges lol).

I came on with no pains, whereas normally I allow for one day of extreme uncomfortableness (lower back/nether region pain) where it’s just miserable trying to sit. I’ve had probably about one or two hours where it hurt and that’s it.

If this is the seeds I am impressed. Going to have to stick with it for a couple more months and see what happens.

This is what seed cycling is: www.healthline.com/nutrition/seed-cycling

Hi, I've just heard about this. How is it going? I'm thinking of having a go. However my main issue is during my period and the flu like crash symptoms. Do you know if it helps with this?

Still doing it. only just on second month so can't comment but fingers crossed.

I adopted some of the principles from this years ago and it does help: cyclediet.com/luteal-phase-menu (e.g. more veggies, less sugar). Also less gluten.

Oh thanks - really interesting as that diet is my natural preferred diet (if I lived on my own!), though I do have diary. Do like oat milk though.

I'm still bf so that may have an impact on my cycle of course.

Quick update.

Month two.

First half of the month was normal, after ovulation I have been feeling low/depressed/anxious...not this month! I felt really calm and focused (pretty good considering December has not been super healthy and it's the middle of Winter) and then around day 25 (31 day cycle) my mood really picked up and I felt super great. My period just arrived and I have had absolutely no cramps at all this month.

I only noticed some vague background malaise a few days before that I couldn't put my finger on, and I had one teary moment thinking about an ex (why?!) on the day my period came. I haven't been particularly stressed (for a change) so maybe this is a factor.

I cut back the seeds to a teaspoon of each as they are quite calorific.

Will continue for another month - I wonder if I will get used to it (or more likely think I'm cured of pmt and stop LOL).

Here's an article in Cosmo on Seed Cycling: www.cosmopolitan.com/style-beauty/beauty/a28778205/seed-cycling-acne-hormones/

I think it's important to say I have garden variety PMS and for severe symptoms it's always important to get them checked out.

Hi Goldfish, just came across this thread when researching seed cycling! If you’re happy to update, I’d love to follow progress. Recently become much more aware of my cycle - a friend sent me a podcast about the “seasons” of each cycle and it’s opened my eyes hugely! X
