Experience of weight loss and anxiety

Does anybody have experience of weight loss caused by anxiety please?
I’ve been experiencing increasing postnatal anxiety which has become more generalised and I am aware I need to get help for. However in the last month I have suddenly lost a lot of weight rapidly (3.5kg) and have been to see the doctor. He has taken bloods but suggested it’s anxiety related. I’m skeptical that this is the cause considering the anxiety has been ongoing for months and months but wondered if anybody had any insight of their own experience please

Yes I have and I didn't tune into it until recently- I just don't eat much but I don't realise I'm doing it.

However I've also experienced it via thyroid issues which can be an issue post partum. I imagine he's taken bloods for that to rule it out. You usually lose weight with hyperthyroidism but I've also lost with hypothyroidism (more severely actually) due to the feeling anxious not eating thing!

Did he offer anything for the anxiety?

Have you actually noticed a change in your diet or appetite prior to losing the weight this month? Because what anxiety usually affects is the appetite itself which causes the weight loss, but if you're losing weight without a change in diet then there is a physical/medical reason so do not be fobbed off by your gp.

I have lost weight due to anxiety, but I can clearly see a decrease in my appetite first before the weight drops off.
