Title says it all. Just had a bath and during wash felt a lump on my right breast. I have lumpy boobs anyway but this lump, size of a small marble stood out from the rest.
I'm 42 on the depo which I'm coming off in the new year for other health reasons. Will phone the doctors tomorrow to get an emergency appointment. My mum has had a benign lump and her mum had breast ca in her 30's .
I have been to the breast clinic before as I have a cyst in the left breast that likes to make an appearance every now and again.
Ah also I keep having menopausal symptoms. Sorry trying not to drip feed.

Could be a cyst, or a bit of tissue. Might be nothing at all.

Have a glass of something nice and pop on a crappy film.

Sounds like a Fibroadenoma. You will need checking out but try not to worry

I get impression that 99.5% of lumps at your age will be benign. It's just a chore you have to do to go get it checked out just in case you turn out to be the rather unlucky 1/200.

Just forewarn you, the Receptionists don't always see it as an emergency. Mine didn't and I had to wait for a regular appointment

Hi, 39, lumpy breasts here. Had two scans over the years, just a 2.5.mm cyst and fibrous tissue. History of breast cancer in family. You'll be fine xx

A nurse once told me that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, and nowadays we are even too aware of what could be wrong. As a result we are anxious about anything we come across. Still it's meant to help us spot possible problems early so just wait till tomorrow, see a doctor and go from there.

GP tomorrow and a referal under the 2 week wait. Best to get it assessed by professionals and avoid Dr Google.

Been there several times and know your mind will be going round in circles but there is no point until you have facts

Gentle hugs Flowers

I found a lump in September, im 25 and currently pregnant. Went to see an ANP she was adamant it was a cyst so thought nothing more of it, until late November checked and it was still there so had it checked by a doctor for peace of mind, hes referred me to the breast clinic and have my appointment next week. Im absolutely terrified its about the size of a pea (if not smaller) near my arm pit but seems to be movable. The waiting around is definitely bothering me. Just wish id pushed a bit harder in September when i think i half expected being referred 'just to make sure' whereas now its worse as i just keep thinking the worst. Good luck hope you get your appointment soon.

Thank you, dr google seems to be my worst enemy at the moment! I know i shouldnt but i then find some information that makes me feel a bit more positive, only to find another site that frightens the life out of me! I did get my appointment really quickly though, just seems like those 2 weeks take forever.

Stay away from google! Like I said I'm a HCP so probably the worse patient you can get ( except retired nurses going off experience)

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me joining this conversation. I have just been to the GP about a lump similar to your description. She has referred me to the Breast Clinic within 2 weeks. I know it is likely to be fine but I got a real shock when cancer was mentioned. I'm not really adding anything to your convo but I hope all is okay with you, OP... fingers crossed for quick and simple treatments.

Great that you got your referral quickly! Hopefully all be over and done with next week and be leaving the clinic with reassurance. Keep reminding myself of the statistics and that the breast clinic is a precaution.

Hard and smooth sounds like a fibroadenoma, especially if it darts about when you try to find it, rather than being fixed (my dr told me that they're often bizarrely called the 'mouse of the breast'.

Best to get it checked of course 👍

Sorry only just seen your post planting the lump I have is fixed and doesn't move. Had my letter off the hospital today, Christ it reads scary but it's all the relevant need to know information, clear and concise. I've not told anyone in rl except my partner as I don't want to worry people in case it's something or nothing

Had the appointment at the breast clinic today, benign and diagnosed as fatty tissue (normal pregnancy changes). Have a follow up after giving birth to check things go back to normal. There were lots of women in the clinic so seems to be that probably the 80% benign diagnosis is right although i had a hard time believing it until receiving the benign diagnosis today . Hope all goes well on friday.
