Recurring spots inside nose!

ItchySeveredFoot · 26/11/2019 22:09

For the past few months I've been getting painful spots inside both nostrils. They come and go but I have one at the moment that's painful and is even making the outside of my nose red.
Would it be overkill to go see my gp? I googled it and obviously now I'm gonna die from a horrible bacteria. Anyone know anything about this?

I believe it's called perioral dermatitis and it's really annoying. Don't use hydrocortisone cream as that makes it worse.

So will it just go away by itself?

But the spots are right inside my nose.

Go to the GP. I had this once and it was so annoying - kept recurring and ended up with a really swollen gland in my neck from low level infection dragging on. Was prescribed an antibiotic cream (naseptin) and it cleared up in under a week. I was so cross with myself I didn’t go earlier!

Are you pregnant? This happened to me in my last two pregnancies

I get them inside my nose too. Mine goes away on it's own and then comes back, then goes again. It's never quite bad enough or long enough to warrant the effort involved in getting a dr's appointment for me.

Having seen enjoyingscience reply, I might have to get off my arse and make the effort.

No definitely not pregnant. I think I might be getting a cold as well.

I had this and as above naseptin cured it. If i feel them coming back i just use a little bit if the cream and it goes.

Definitely see your GP or nurse practitioner. I struggled with this for a couple of months last year so I know how irritating it is. I eventually saw a practice nurse who prescribed a naseptin (as above). She was actually quite stern that I’d messed around and taken so long to go and said if it happened again I’d to go straight back.

It works really quickly too.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'll definitely get it checked out but I've now come down with a stomach bug so it'll have to wait unfortunately.
