Bleeding mole on face

I have some flat moles/large freckles on my face, one of them has changed in texture and started bleeding. I am seeing my GP tomorrow for something else, but wondered if anyone who knows about moles could have a look at this picture and comment?

You should ask to see a dermatologist. A mole changing and bleeding is a symptom of skin cancer. Better to have it checked by a professional.

I would ask your gp to take a look at this tomorrow. They'll put a light/x10 magnifier on to it to get a good look. Likely you will be referred due to the bleeding alone, but try not to worry. I had a colleague who had a non cancerous bleeding mole cut from her face, so it can bleed and not be cancerous. Best to point it out and get it checked.

Always get them checked out if any changes or bleeding. I've had one removed and biopsies but test results came back ok. The sooner the better with these things.

I have been referred on a two week wait, so hoping for the best. GP said she “didn’t like the look of it”. She wasn’t happy that I brought it up as well as the issue I had made the appointment for, but it would have taken another month to get seen again 😢

Have u been seen yet? Bleeding moles are of a concern, but they do happen a lot more often than people realise and more often are benign. I had one like this similar on my back, I was petrified because it kept bleeding and would never heal was always scabby. In the end they reluctantly removed it it was benign but it caused me some serious anxiety as all the internet says is melanoma. (I'm also your typical very pale blue eyes freckles person) it's not always bad, keep us updated x

No I haven’t even heard from the hospital yet, but the mole has gone down and is less scabby, so hopefully it will be nothing when I do get seen. I am fair and blue eyed but with olive skin that never burns, I have worn SPF 15 moisturiser for many years, but I think I am going to wear a higher SPF from now on.
