I discovered that both ds and I had threadworms around two months ago when I was heavily pregnant. I had suspected for a while that he might have then but it was actually myself that I first discovered them in and then after a bit of night time investigation found that he was riddled when them
I treated the whole family except myself as I was advised by the gp that I could follow hygeine methods only. I cleaned rigourously, washed bedding daily etc and I am pretty sure they cleared.
However last night, I felt that familiar feeling and low and behold I discovered I have them again . I have a newborn baby now and am breastfeeding so again I can't take any form of treatment, and nor can the baby.
I'm pretty sure ds has been reinfected and that I have picked them up from him again.
I am just wondering will I ever be rid of the horrible things? And how do I stop my newborn from catching them? From what I have read, my newborn can't take anything until he is 2, and I also plan to bf him long term so neither can I. My cleaning regime was crazy last time and I am wondering how i'll keep up with daily bedwashing for the whole family as well as cleaning top to bottom with a newborn.
Anyone experienced this and successfully got rid?
