Tooth extraction possible complications

Had to have tooth out as clumsy dentist cracked tooth after being heavy handed with the clamp.
Extraction seemed to go okay, no massive pain afterwards, but next door tooth felt painful. Four days later it feels a little wobbly, not massively so. It also hurts a fair bit esp if I give it a light tap with my finger nail. Looked and felt the gum today. It feels pretty swollen and hard? I'm going to ring dentist tomorrow, but in the meantime does anyone know if I should be worried or is this normal? Thanks

I had a back tooth out a couple of years ago, and the neighbouring tooth hurt afterwards. I had a follow-up appointment the week after and the dentist said it wasn’t unusual, and would resolve, which it did. I think the next door tooth can get a bit bashed about in the process of the extraction, but I didn’t have any issues with the gum. Ringing in sounds like a good plan.

Thanks Judy that's reassuring hopefully the gum will resolve but I'll ring anyway.
