Hi all.

I was wondering if anyone had the same problem as me. It started about a year ago and a half ago, when im getting close to an orgasm or i do orgasm i get really bad pains its like really really bad period pains to the point i cant move, it lasts for about 2 minutes and it happens every now and again its not all the time, its happened probably about 8 times in the last year and a half but its so so painful and it does seem to happen more towards when im due on however it happened last night and im not due on for another 10 days so it just happens at any time. Ive not had no kids im only 23, no problems such as Endo etc that i know of. I will go and get checked but i was wondering if anyone else experienced this and knew what the cause was?

Thanks all

If you have endometriosis, PCOS or pelvic inflammation and there is scar tissue then the muscle contractions during orgasm.

Have you been diagnosed with anything like that?

Have you had a full STI screen recently or since the problem started?

Go to your GP or local sexual health clinic for some professional advice and screening. Flowers it sounds awful.

No not been diagnosed with anything but its definitely to do with contracting like you said. I'm a bit nervous to go to a doctor and have them mess around with my private parts 😳 but i am getting worried as to why i am having these pains. Will get booked into the doctors to see what they say x

Hi,

No ive been with my boyfriend since i was 13, definitely no STI were always together so no chance of him ever cheating not that he would anyway. I did have an STI screening about 3 years ago as i was bleeding for 6 months but that was to do with a new pill i was trying the doctor just wanted to rule out an STI x

I had this for while but seems to have stopped now. I think it might have been more psychological in my case though. See a female doctor if you're worried. Don't feel awkward, they've literally seen it all a million times before.

Please do go to the gp, I had this for a few years and I know how horrible it is. I was diagnosed with Endometriosis eventually and after numerous ops this symptom has gone but as PP has said it can be a sign of PCOS or PID, it's not something you should think of as normal

What do they so to diagnose you with it? Im so worried to go and have to get my private parts out and not knowing what they do makes me more worried. I know theyve all seen it before but its more not knowing what theyll do to see what the problem is if that makes sense? Thank you x

The GP may have other ideas about what it is but in order to get a diagnosis of ENDO, PCOS or PID you would be referred to a gynaecologist who would likely do scans and further testing if they thought necessary..

These can't really be confirmed or ruled out without further investigations but are common and can be managed.

Have you ever had cervical screening? They may offer this also, uncomfortable but in and out in 5 minutes and totally worth going.

Do you have any other symptoms? Irregular bleeding, bloating, pain at other times?

It's daunting but do try to see a Dr as PP suggested ask for a female if it makes you more comfortable. They have definitely discussed such things many times before and they may not even examine you.

I had this issue when my B12 was low. I had numbness and pins & needles elsewhere and the painful orgasm thing. I take sublingual supplements now and it’s gone away. Something to do with how your nerves conduct signals. B12 deficiency is most common in vegetarians but meat these days isn’t as nutritious as it once was, so even meat eaters can be deficient.

Oh god ive been suffering lately with pins and needles, its been happening for about the same time as the painful orgasms! I get them in my hands and arms and sometimes i randomly feel a bit dizzy and sick. Did u go to the doctors and they told u ur b12 was low? X

They told me it probably wasn’t low and that it was most likely a gynaecological issue. Then did the blood test begrudgingmy and it was borderline low/at the low end of normal. Had a course of B12 injections and it sorted me right out. Since then I take the sublingual tablets as the injections were horrid!

Shall i go and ask my doctor for a bloodtest for my B12 and see what they say? I think theyll refuse me a blood test but i have so many symptoms of that. I have needles as well lol! X

Yes definitely push the pins and needles thing. I also found my mood was low and I was really breathless, so if you have any other symptoms that would point them that way it would be worth mentioning. If you lead with the orgasm bit it will most likely send them down the wrong road!

But obvs it could be something else so if they suggest other tests or referrals definitely worth taking them, hopefully someone picks up on the right thing!

I had this after a few utis and kidney infections
It cleared amazingly with a treatment of reflexology

That's really interesting. I had pins and needles in my hand around the same time - i thought it was carpal tunnel - and i was vegan. Now vegetarian and all the symptoms have abated. Never would have guessed there was a link.

Ive mentioned to my boyfriend i get pins and needles its not something ive always suffered with im wondering if its related now. I hope it is and its just something easily solved. X

Ah I do hope it’s something that simple to sort out! If it is, you need loading doses of B12 injections but you can also take strong supplements for a similar effect with less pain and inconvenience!

I always trot out the ‘check your thyroid and test your B12’ advice to anyone with these symptoms as they were both missed several times by doctors for me and they’re such simple things to test and treat, I wish GPs would routinely screen for them before

sorry, hadn’t finished!

before writing people off with depression or referring them to a specialist when a few blood tests would tell a lot.
