Tension headaches?

Hi,

For about three years now I've been experiencing pressure round my forehead. It doesn't hurt, so I'm not in any kind of pain. It just feels really uncomfortable and it seems the more I think about it the more aware of it I become and the sensation seems to get worse.
When it first started I went to the doctors about it & he told me it was definitely something called a 'tension headache'.

When I looked into it they seemed to be associated with stress which did make sense since I'm quite an anxious person and always have been.

These headaches come and go. I don't have them constantly, and when I get them they tend to come on in the evenings or sometimes if i think about them I get one. I seem to be getting them more just recently but I'm not sure if thats because I'm stressed with uni work. As I type this I can feel this pressure.

Im just wondering if anyone else suffers from these? I've tried to explain this feeling of pressure to close family and friends and they don't really get it. Being an overly anxious person I'm obviously thinking that its something more serious.

Can anyone explain them to me? or just put my mind at ease.

Thanks

Bubbles have you had your eyes tested lately? Go to the opticians they do a very thorough examination. You could be needing glasses for long distance or reading, you could mention the headaches to them and if they spotted anything concerning, you would be referred quickly to hospital. It will help reassuring you.

@Oldmum55 Thanks for your message! I thought the same and had an eye test about 2 weeks ago and everything came back fine. I think its probably just stress maybe?

Maybe it's sinus pain?

Do the headaches relate the the light at all? I have a huge problem with strip lighting, if I try and work in an office with limited natural light I get headaches across my forehead. It might not be that you need glasses for distance, but there are ones for working on a screen that gamers use, and have the added bonus of making you look like Bono! Yeah, well they look ridiculous but if they work who cares.

I have also been suffering a month long head ache :( Pressure in my head and back of head when I stand and a general constant headache around my whole head, very draining. Does anyone else have or had similar? Any ideas what it could be? Or advice on how to relieve the pain? I’ve been docs 4 times now on amytriptlyne 20mg per night, they keep a lid on Odin but I still feel something there and pressure when I stand up :( x
