After a scan, blood tests etc etc etc it turns out that there is no underlying cause for my ridiculous heavy periods and other peri symptoms. I am 47 and am still producing eggs, ffs.
The doctor has suggested I try a Mirena coil. I haven't used hormonal contraception for about 18 years. I have heard horror stories about mood swings and horrible side effects. Does this happen to everyone?
