I’m feeling really disheartened. So onSunday, we discovered that our 2 children had thread worm (yuk I know) we all had Ovex on Monday and my house has been bleached, sanitised from top to bottom(police forensics would be highly suspicious if they came round) my house is always clean any way, but it is well and truest sanitised. Towels changed daily and washed, children’s nails short, showered every morning, hand hygiene reinforced and supervised. Pants worn to bed under PJs and beds changed. 4 days after the Ovex and both have done their first poos- and there are still wriggly worms - I thought they would have died but they are still alive!!!!!!!!!!! When do these suckers die. I don’t want to see them waving at me from my children’s poo I WANT THEM DEAD!

It does take a few days to work as it starves them of sugars. Is it 2 weeks before treating again?

It says this online:

The main ingredient in threadworm medication includingOvexis Mebendazole, which works by preventing the worms from being able to absorb the sugars (glucose) that keep them alive. With their energy stores cut off, it could take them a few days to die. This is why immediate elimination of worms is impossible and you may still notice the worms and itching after taking the treatment.
