Skin reaction on face after glycolic acid

I used The Ordinary glycolic acid daily for 2 weeks. At first it started to clear the acne and hyperpigmentation on my face, but then I developed very itchy, red, flaky skin. My acne and hyperpigmentation is now worse.

I've reduced my skin care routine to nothing but water, basic moisturiser and jojoba oil, but my skin is still sensitive and irritated after 5 months. I also recently got a skin infection on my face and have been prescribed antibiotic and steroid cream.

Any advice on getting my skin back to normal would be really welcome!
