Severe headache for 5 days

I've had the most intense headache for 5 days now. I am not usually a person who gets headaches at all.

It started last week with feeling weak and generally shitty, then pain behind my eyes and feeling a bit "not all there" I could barely concentrate on walking the dog. Since then it's predominantly a headache but also bouts of feeling intensely hot and tender, sensitive eyes. I also feel weak and walking up the stairs makes my muscles feel fatigued.

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night because the headache was so intense.

Does this warrant and emergency Dr appointment?

Make an appointment today with your GP.. Five days is a long time for a bad headache with other symptoms. If you can’t get an appointment today - (you should be able to if you tell them it is “urgent”) ask for a call back from a doctor and explain your symptoms to them.

You are clearly not feeling well - please speak to a doctor and get some help.

Definitely doctors today even if they'll say it's a virus! Let us know.

I'd see a gp. If you've been hot and feverish/shivery it's probably a virus.

Definitely warrants an emergency appointment, failing that, walk in centre or urgent care. If you're not prone to regular headaches or migraines and this isn't abating with medication (which I presume you've taken) further questions need to be asked.

Thanks everyone, just got back from the GP. She is puzzled.
I also have a temperature of 38, so my home thermometer is going in the bin.
I've been prescribed naproxen and had a blood test and she's asked me to come back in tomorrow to discuss results.
