Dry socket packing

Had a wisdom tooth out last week, did everything right but by Thursday the clot was gone. Nothing too painful but went to the dentist yesterday evening who said yep, dry socket, packed it and put me on antibiotics.

The packing has fallen out in less than 24 hours. I haven’t smoked, used a straw, spit, drunk anything fizzy. Is my face going to fall off? She said it was fine if it fell out but I assume she meant in a few days!!

I would call your dentist I think it may need packing again seeing as it is a dry socket it is still exposed to infections and other complications.

PS dry socket is absolutely EXCRUCIATING! I still remember when I had it OUCH!

I feel very lucky, mine has been a very minor ache and I would quite like to keep it that way at best! I am worried about taking even more time off work for this bloody tooth!!!
